Celebrating the Louis B. Sohn Centennial

The Law Library celebrates the Louis B. Sohn Centennial

This month, we’re celebrating the centennial of the birth of the late Professor Louis B. Sohn. Students stopping by the Law Library this morning enjoyed a “United Nations blue” celebratory cupcake and learned a little about the long-time scholar of international law who came to Georgia Law from Harvard in 1981 at the invitation of former Secretary of State Dean Rusk. Professor Sohn’s donation of his extensive personal collection to the Law Library became the basis for the Louis B. Sohn Collection on International Relations. This important collection, housed in its own reading room on the Library balcony, continues to grow with the regular addition of a broad spectrum of new monographic literature selected using the criteria Professor Sohn himself used to develop the original collection.
