New Book: Bending Towards Justice

bendingtowardsjusticeThe recent Supreme Court decision in Shelby County v. Holder has brought much attention to the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens has rewritten about the decision in his timely review of the new book Bending Toward Justice: The Voting Rights Act and the Transformation of American Democracy by Gary May.  You can find Justice Stevens’ review entitled “The Court & the Right to Vote: A Dissent” in the August 15, 2013 edition of The New York Review of Books already available online.  Then check out the book Bending Towards Justice to read it for yourself from the Law Library Balcony  KF4893 .M39 2013.
