New Book: Knockoffs!

Knockoff EconomyIn their new book The Knockoff Economy: How Imitation Sparks Innovation, authors Kal Raustiala and Christopher Sprigman argue that not only is imitation the sincerest form of flattery, but it also spurs creativity and innovation.  Using the fashion industry as an example, the authors demonstrate how the “knockoff” industry actually drives the rapid creation of new designs and that the absence of intellectual property law can sometimes be better for innovation.
