New Book: Constitution!

The Odd ClausesHappy Constitution Day!

In the recent book The Odd Clauses: Understanding the Constitution Through Ten of Its Most Curious Provisions (Balcony KF4550 .W465 2011), Jay Wexler, a professor at the Boston University School of Law, examines ten of the more obscure clauses of the U.S. Constitution, scattered amongst the better known amendments throughout the eight thousand word document.  These lesser referenced portions of the Constitution range from the weights and measure clause, Article I, Section 8 “The Congress shall have Power To….fix the Standard of Weights and Measures” to the title of nobility clauses, Article I, Section 10, “No State shall…grant any Title of Nobility.” You can watch Prof. Wexler speaking about The Odd Clauses from a bookstore in Brookline, Massachusetts via C-SPAN’s BookTV from Nov. 10, 2011.
