Cal Bar Gathers “Ethics & Technology” Resources

The State Bar of California has made available a collection of resources on professional responsibility issues that arise in connection with the use of  web sites, email, chat rooms and other technologies. They provide access to ethics opinions, articles and continuing legal education programs on the following subjects:

  • Online Communication (email, chat, blogs)
  • Electronic Files (storage, metadata, e-Discovery, etc.)
  • Advertising (website and email content issues)
  • Social Networking
  • Internet/Email Scams

While the resources tend to be California-focused, the issues raised are pertinent to attorneys practicing anywhere.
