Google Awards $2M for Law.gov Initiative

Google recently announced the winning entries in its Project 10^100, which provides $10 million to five organizations working on solutions to  global challenges. This librarian’s heart is warmed by the naming of Public.Resource.Org as one of the winning organizations.

With the goal of making government more transparent, Public.Resource.Org focuses on enabling online access to public government documents in the United States. Google will give $2 million to this non profit to support the Law.gov initiative, which aims to make all primary legal materials in the United States available to everybody.
