Fall 2010 Computer Health and Security Fair set for October 13

UGA students, faculty, and staff are invited to bring their laptops to the second floor lobby of the Miller Learning Center between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., October 13, for security assistance.

The security checkup includes virus scans and software updates, spyware removal, and more. Requests will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis. Security professionals will also be on hand to provide information about the dangers of phishing attacks and how you can protect yourself against these and other identity theft attempts.

TEC Services, a unit within the Office of Research Services, will be on site along with EITS consultants and technicians to provide a security checkup for laptop computers.

The fair is intended to assist individuals with personally owned computers. Please be sure to consult your departmental IT professional before bringing a work computer to the fair. For more information on the upcoming fair, including a link the the CHSF Facebook page, please see:
